Teaching philosophy

  1. Start from the research question, not the formula. Each method is introduced only when it answers a problem students already recognize — a between-subjects design, a scale that needs validation, a latent trait to be estimated.
  2. Pair theory with reproducible computation. Every method is implemented in R alongside its derivation; students submit analyses as reproducible scripts, so the link between an equation and its output is something they build.
  3. Treat AI tools as objects of critical analysis. Students compare AI-generated analyses with their own, locate where the statistical reasoning goes wrong, and say why. The goal is judgment, not prohibition.
